Support for the integration and recognition of women and girls in scientific projects
The promotion of the full participation by women and girls in education, training, work and the processes in which decisions are adopted in science. The elimination of all types of female discrimination in the fields of education and work. The ending of legal, economic, social and cultural barriers through policies and study plans to encourage greater participation by women and girls in the field of science and recognise their achievements. These are the aims identified by the UN on declaring February 11 to be the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
To mark the event, the women who form part of the teams of the Institut de la Màcula and the BMF produced a joint declaration on the day stating their commitment to the work performed in these institutions.
